EVENT MANAGEMENT INTERN

The Position

The Corydon Group is looking for a hospitality/event management intern to support our growing Association Management practice. This individual will serve as a right hand to our Meeting Planner and will occasionally provide support to the larger Association Management team as needed.

This is a paid part-time position (approximately 15 hours/week) at $15.00/hour. Candidates will be expected to work in person during the summer months at our downtown Indianapolis office, and will transition to a hybrid schedule (mix of in-person/remote) during the fall semester.

Purpose and Scope

The purpose of this role is to enhance the capacity of our current event planning team to meet the growing needs of the association clients that we serve.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and organized intern to join our Association Management team with a primary focus on supporting our Meeting Planner. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event planning, association management, and various aspects of non-profit operations. The intern will assist in the planning, execution, and post-event wrap-up of conferences and meetings, while also contributing to membership, communications, and finance tasks. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who is eager to learn and contribute.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Meeting Planner in all stages of event planning, including pre-event logistics, onsite execution, and post-event analysis.
  • Participate in planning meetings, contribute ideas, and track action items.
  • Coordinate with speakers, sponsors, and attendees; manage communications and logistics.
  • Assist with the registration processes, attendee communications, and on-site support.
  • Assist with the development and distribution of event materials, including agendas, signage, and presentations.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and compile feedback reports.

Association Management Support:

  • Membership: Assist with data entry, renewal processes, and member communication.
  • Communications: Support the development and distribution of newsletters, social media content, and website updates.
  • Finance: Assist with basic financial reporting.
  • Manage and organize event related data and documentation.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Association Management team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Collaborative and willing to “get hands dirty” to ensure project success.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Interest in event planning and association management.
  • Available to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as required for events.
