Lisa A. Perius, CAE

Lisa A. Perius, CAE, graduated from Indiana University in 1985 with a degree in Public Affairs. After working in Indiana state government, she was hired as the Executive Director of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA), where she has served since January 1996.

Under her leadership, the IVMA has grown in membership, member value, legislative presence, and national prominence as a premier veterinary medical association in the United States. She has been involved with Veterinary Medical Association Executives (VMAE) since she was hired and has been actively engaged in VMAE projects since 1996. Lisa served as VMAE President in 2002 and was named the Executive of the Year in 2005. For the past 10 years, she has served as chair of the Power of 10 National Leadership Program for VMAE. The Power of 10 program offers guidelines and direction for veterinary medical associations around the country to establish their own leadership development program for young veterinarians in their association.

Lisa is a member of the Indiana Society of Association Executives (ISAE) where she participates in the yearly Strategy Circles continuing education program. Lisa served on ISAE’s Leadership Development Committee and currently sits on the ISAE Board of Directors and the ISAE Executive Committee. She has been a long-time member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and has obtained the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from ASAE. The CAE is the highest professional credential in the association industry.

Lisa is trained to deliver Discovery Insights. Insights is powerful training which leads to understanding of yourself and others and how to best communicate and interact. She also completed the Certificate of Excellence for Diversity and Inclusion in Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine.

She and her husband have two grown sons, two wonderful daughters-in-law, and three beautiful granddaughters with granddaughter #4 due in September.
